Happy Launch Day!

Hello Middle School Ministry tribe!

This has been a long time coming. I am so excited to finally get started.

A couple of years back, a few of us dreamed of putting together a place where Middle School pastors could gather, share ideas, discuss ministry strategies, and engage in the community we tell our students is so important.

Let’s face it; ministry can be a lonely job. Middle School Ministry can be even lonelier.

We could all use some quality time with some quality people that do what we do.

That’s why we set out to create Uthmin.

Our plan was to start September 12, with an incredible online conference featuring some amazing thinkers and middle school pastors like Andy Stanley, Scott Rubin, Mark Oestreicher, Elle Campbell, Jeremy Lee, Brooklyn Lindsey, Kurt Johnson, and many more.

Well…I have a lot of good news and a bit of bad news.

Let me start with the bad news.

We have to push our #MSMin Conference back a bit. Boo!

But…the reasons why are really, really great.

Let me list them for you in no particular order:

  1. We have so much great content that we had to rethink our infrastructure to make it easily accessible to you. I think you will be glad for the wait!
  2. We have even more content coming and we need a few more weeks to capture the remaining interviews we know you are going to love. (Reggie Joiner, Jeff Wallace, Ben Crawshaw, and some more surprises.)
  3. We worked out a partnership with Rethink (the folks who bring you the Orange Conference and XP3) so that we can SERIOUSLY increase the ministry toolbox that will be available to you through Uthmin.

Now…I hate to over-promise and under-deliver so here is what we are going to do in the meantime.

Today we we are launching this blog. Yes, the blog you are reading right now. It’s a blog for the Middle School Ministry tribe, written by the Middle School Ministry tribe.

We have gathered some of the most strategic Middle School pastors I know to share their thoughts.

And in these first couple of weeks I would love to hear from you as well. What are you thinking? What is working for you?

We will take your submissions and put up as much great content as we can.

If you have a cool idea for making your Middle School Ministry better (maybe a game, an event idea, a strategy or technique that has worked for you), we’d love to hear about it and maybe even feature it here on the blog. If you’ve got something you think would benefit the rest of our tribe, go ahead and submit it.

If you want to hear more about what Uthmin is and how it got started, check this out.

Again…I am so excited to get this thing off the ground.  I look forward to doing ministry with you and many others.
